Role and Function of the CECIt is the role of the Catholic Education Commission to formulate and make recommendations on policies relating to Catholic schools and the CCD in the Archdiocese. Such policies are subject to the agreement of the Archbishop who has the ultimate responsibility for Catholic education within the Archdiocese. It is the primary function of the

shape within the Archdiocese by
setting broad educational objectives Three Permanent Committees assist the Commission by providing it with information and advice on which decisions may be based. These Committees are: Religious Education and Curriculum Permanent CommitteeThe Religious Education and Curriculum Permanent Committee is responsible for advising the Catholic Education Commission on policy development and reporting on religious education and curriculum programmes which promote quality Catholic education in Archdiocesan schools and the Confraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD). Human Resource Services Permanent CommitteeThe Human Resource Services Permanent Committee is responsible for advising the Catholic Education Commission on policy development and reporting on the implementation of Human Resource Policies based on Catholic social principles to serve the educational ministry of the Archdiocese. Finance and Planning Permanent CommitteeThe Finance and Planning Permanent Committee is responsible for advising the Commission on policy issues relating to finance and planning at school and system levels. |
