Learning and Teaching

The Catholic Education Office is committed to assisting its schools to prepare young people for tomorrow's world by expecting them to provide an education which is congruent with the values of the gospels and the teachings of the Catholic Church.

To realise such a system of education we must hold firmly in place a vision for the kinds of adults our young people need to become, and understand the principles that drive this vision.

All learning and teaching in Catholic schools in our Archdiocese has as its basis 'Treasures New and Old.

NSW schools use the syllabus material from the Board of Studies to develop school based curriculum documents. ACT schools base their school curriculum plans on the new ACT curriculum framework - Every Chance to Learn. The Quality Teaching Framework forms the basis of the approach to pedagogy that will underpin the implementation of these curriculum frameworks.
