Purpose:

This policy aims to assist schools in the formulation of Homework policies.

Policy:

Each School should develop a homework policy taking into account the age of the students and the requirements of the educational programs with which they are involved.

Teachers must be prudent in the setting of homework and the expectation that it will be completed by all children because of the wide variations in home conditions of the children.

Homework should not be assigned to complete an activity left unfinished from class if it cannot be completed without teacher assistance.

Definitions:

Homework: work assigned by teachers to be completed by students outside of school hours.
