Certified Agreement

Previously known as an Award.

A Certified Agreement defines the conditions and terms governing employment in a defined industry or organisation. Certified Agreements are negotiated periodically between the employing authority and the employees, usually through relevant unions.

Copies of Certified Agreements are available in all schools, through union offices or at the Catholic Education Office.

Procedures:

1. The online Employee Self Service Leave Application form or the Application for Leave form (where ESS is unavailable) is to be used in each case, fully completed and forwarded to the Director, accompanied by the recommendation of the Principal .

2. In the case of long service leave, two school terms notice must be given by a teacher requesting leave or by the Principal on behalf of the Director, if a teacher is requested to take leave.

3. Employees on leave are normally expected to resume their position at the school from which the leave was granted.
